But first a small bit of history about the Noni fruit:
The fruit of Morinda Citrifolia, or “Noni” was in the Pacific Ocean at least 2000 years ago, when the ancient peoples of Polynesia that the noni plant as a source of food and medicine and saw when they colonized the islands of the South Pacific.
The noni is coming from India and surrounding sub-continental regions such as Australia and Samoa. The fruit was so honored and respected for not only the nutritional value but also its medicinal properties, Samoan explorers considered an essential part of any long journey of discovery.
Traditional use of the noni plant are varied and virtually every part of the plant is used as a form of medicine.
Apart from the fruit, the old Polynesian used healers noni leaves as a bandage for wounds.
Root or stem bark was usually used for the treatment of inflammation or infection.
Research on the traditional use of noni indicate that it is one of the most popular plants used in herbal remedies with approximately 40 known and recorded formulations. In fact, it was so popular that the noni is cultivated in the Polynesian Islands soon as a staple crops as “miracle fruit”.
Today, it is still widely used and respected fruit for the amazing nutritional properties in many countries!
